Battles of Attrition: Warfare 1917

War is not fair -thus is one of the many interesting quotes that Warfare 1917 throws at its' players, and it is true. The computer AI will relentlessly push forward with a myriad of troops, and artillery bombardment is a constant danger to all you men. The game provides a very direct display of how battle of attrition occur, and players get to strategize, plan, and hope that their own array of troops and cover fire will be enough to win the day. This real time, "send all your men towards the other side” game finds its longevity in the fact that you continuously gain experience points on the fly upgrading your skills mid-battle instead of just every intermission. Fun, hectic, and quite symbolic of real life battles, these are what makes Warfare 1917 worth playing.
