–Whether the sales of the company’s t cannibalizes line of por computing itself–the question is ultimately impossible to answer, or at least measure: one cannot look into the crystal ball to see the counter factual-alternative universe without the iPad.
But Tim Cook, Apple’s CHIEF EXECUTIVE, believes that iPad sales are at least a few Apple block your personal computer.
“I think there are some cannibalization of the iPad,” Cook admitted earlier this week during his company’s quarterly earnings call with Wall Street.
Cook offers the view that while answering the question about poor sales than expected from Apple laptops, of which only 2% during the same period a year earlier–in line with an increase in the overall computer industry average, according to IDC.
The year-over-year unit sales increase 2% is significantly lower than that of the Apple laptop line usually garners: in the first quarter of 2011, for example. Apple sells notebooks 53% more than it did the previous year.
