Argentina Bans Apple iPhone and BlackBerry Smartphones in the midst of economic crisis

The ban covers all telephone handsets are made outside of Argentina, which is a decline in sales directly to Apple and Research In Motion (RIM) because the two companies do not have a factory in Argentina.

Major phone makers Nokia, Samsung, LG and Motorola already has plants in South America so that OEMS will escape the ban Government recently.

Apple and RIM can either avoid the ban by putting up factories in the State or by a local couple who have permission to sell products in Argentina, which RIM chose the latter while Apple seems to want to sit this one out.
